Glenfinnan Monument and Viaduct Wall Art
In this wall art, we take a look at what has become one of the most famous scenes in Scotland. Thanks in no small measure to the 'Harry Potter' films - and of course, nearly three hundred years of history! 'In Jacobite Rising’, I have tried to encompass all the ingredients that make this view so compelling. Loch, mountains, steam, history - and Hogwarts!
Available on either a black or slate grey baseboard.
The Viaduct and Monument at Glenfinnan present us with an intoxicating mix of steam and romantic history. Add to that the stunning backdrop of Loch Shiel and its lofty peaks and you have the right ingredients for one of the most evocative and enduring images of Scotland. A worthy subject for 'Jacobite Rising’.
The main production challenges presented by 'Jacobite Rising' were in capturing the immense depth of field in the retreating loch - as well as in doing justice to the wide range of textures within the scene: Water, mountains, trees, stone and steam.
The original artwork for this design began life on a traditional sketch pad. It was then redrawn using computer software. All the shapes are then isolated and cut from wood using a high powered laser. Each piece is then colour stained by hand and reconstructed to form a 3D version of the original 2D design.
The baseboard is made of pine. The 3D image layers are of poplar. All Wall Arts come ready to hang with two D rings mounted on the reverse. I recommend hanging on two screws rather than a cord, as this holds the Wall Art flatter agains the wall.
Please note: All 'Off the Wall' products are entirely hand made. Therefore whilst I make every effort to maintain uniformity, there will inevitably be variations from one item to another (eg exact colour, knotting and grain in the wood etc). That's what makes each wall art unique!
