Cairngorm Reindeer Wall Art
Thanks to the sterling efforts of the famous Reindeer Centre in Glenmore, Reindeer are a familiar sight on the slopes of the high Cairngorms. In this wooden wall art of pine and poplar, they are silhouetted against the distinctive western profile of the range.
'Cairngorm Dawn'
The high plateau of the Cairngorm Mountains forms the last remnant of arctic tundra left behind by the ice age over 15,000 years ago. Arguably the last untamed wilderness in the British Isles, this is an area ideally suited to the needs of the UK’s only herd of free ranging Reindeer. If you are in the area, why not pay them a visit!
With lots of colour and strong graphic shapes in both the foreground and background, the trick here was to get the balance right. It was essential not to compromise the central focus of the image. The reindeer.
The artwork for ‘Cairngorm Dawn' began life on a traditional sketch pad. This was then digitally redrawn and all the elements separated using specialist computer software. Each of these elements are then cut from wood using a high powered laser, individually hand stained and reconstructed to form a 3D version of the original 2D design.
The baseboard is made of pine. The 3D image layers are of poplar. All Wall Arts come ready to hang with two D rings mounted on the reverse. I recommend hanging on two screws rather than a cord, as this holds the Wall Art flatter agains the wall.
Please note: All 'Off the Wall' products are entirely hand made. Therefore whilst I make every effort to maintain uniformity, there will inevitably be variations from one item to another (eg exact colour, knotting and grain in the wood etc). That's what makes each wall art unique!
